Mixed bag wasn't it?
They did win those games but then lost to Washington and Northwestern. But to tell you the truth I don't think it matters all that much with them, offense is not their game. I don't think the 2nd string and first string offensive players are all that different for them and they are hardly dynamic so they can just keep running their ball control clock management offense with the other guys.
If utah is counting on winning because of their offense this year then they are in trouble because it is going to be pretty much the same thing it always is. But I don't think that is why they are optimistic, I think it is because of the defense, like always. There is a wildcard here that hasn't been the case for a few years, their special teams, at least the kicker and punter. They are an unknown for the first time in awhile and the guys they've had the last few years were directly responsible for some wins so that has to be a worry. But to be consistent and fair I would give them the benefit of the doubt with the kicker and punter. They've proven to consistently develop those guys year after year so I'd say the odds are that they'll have good ones.
