We have a guy in our ward mid to late 40's dealing with Kidney failure. He has been on a donor list for about 5 years now. He is starting to move downhill and his family has made a plea to members of our Stake asking if anyone is willing to donate. Good guy and would give the shirt off his back if asked.
It is really crossing my mind to potentially look at it. However, I'll be honest as much as I want to do it there is a lot to think about. He is not married and likely won't get married. I'm married with 4 kids ages 19-7. The reality in reading about donations is the real risk of potential death to the donor.
Those who may be familiar with the process what are your thoughts?
