Just a quick update....
I contacted the program today to start the process as an anonymous donor for now. I don't want the family to get there hopes up just yet.
I want to first see if I'm a match and then take it from there. But I believe there is no use stressing about until I know if I'm even a match.
Had my first interview this afternoon. My file will be presented next week to the donor board for review and we'll go from there.

Yeah I don't think I'd seriously consider it if I were in your shoes. I'm not altruistic enough to take that risk

I read somewhere that death isn’t usually an issue, but an increased risk of kidney disease... like 3% of donors
