Please get tested to donate....my dad is waiting for a match as well
You can back out at anytime....even before they wheel you in for surgery. They will always give you a “medical” out of you simply say I can’t do it.
You’re expenses for testing are covered. Your medical expenses for transplant are covered.
If you have issues down the line after donation, you as slot #1 top of the list to receive transplant.
They test so much & science is so advanced that the risk of issues is very small. We, as a family who’s father needs a kidney, will hold his future donor in highest esteem.

Yeah I don't think I'd seriously consider it if I were in your shoes. I'm not altruistic enough to take that risk

I read somewhere that death isn’t usually an issue, but an increased risk of kidney disease... like 3% of donors
