to Emery by virtually anyone but especially not by the gleeful trib anxious for another BYU criminal.
Some of the closest people in the world to Nick Emery decided to go all out and seek his destruction. Scorched Earth kind of stuff. I'm not an insider, I admittedly don't know much of the story but this is about a bitter of a divorce as you can find and in my mind these exes really crossed a 'decent human being' line for me.
Did Nick break the NCAA rules? probably. But he was trying to survive in a very literal sense and was under extreme duress reaching out to any of the rapidly diminishing lifelines available. He grabbed a sincere but tainted one. Was it still a mistake by Emery? sure but let's not talk about this like some run of the mill recruiting violation or that he 'knew better'. A drowning man grabs for anything he can and I feel like that was nick in a very real sense.
