I’m confused... explanation please

So... Emery violates NCAA rules and the in-laws, after the divorce, rat him out. Am I missing something? And if so, how are the in-laws the bad guys here?

Any other program, especially the Utes, and people on this forum would be viewing whistleblowers or “tattletales” as heroes.
