Nick Emery was not the person he made himself out to be. Imagine it's your

daughter. You've taught her the importance of finding a man who will take you to the Temple to be married and then you realize afterward that man had no business taking her to the Temple and you realize that he's not being honest in his dealings. He's broken your daughter's heart. Of course you're upset. I'm fine with the fact that they exposed him for what he was doing. BYU is not collateral damage because of the ex inlaws. BYU was collateral damage because of the NCAA. In terms of what price did the parents pay? They're still paying a price for the actions of Nick that led to their daughter's divorce, which most certainly broke the hearts of her parents and other family members. Broken hearts are collateral damage, and they don't heal overnight.
