I come from an Army background and as an officer, you are responsible for EVERYTHING your organization does or fails to do.

You are expected to lead from the front (i.e. be the fastest, strongest, most well-groomed, professional, etc.) of anyone in your organization because leadership is so paramount in a combat environment. The Jimmy's and Joe's need to trust you.

That is why I have always been very drawn to Bronco and his leadership approach. As you stated, there may have been some flaws to it but he had a plan, he exuded confidence to his players and they showed up for him.

Like you, I have no idea what Sitake is doing. The only goal that I am aware of that the team has is "Protect LaVell's house". While I like the idea, that is not a tangible goal. What the heck does that mean? Go undefeated at home? Only lose to teams that are ranked higher?

A rudderless ship is exactly what the program is and it starts with the program leader.
