Just the thoughts of a friend. I think she is suggesting that the popular scene
in junior high school also comes with a lot of negatives. She's probably right, on average, but certainly that's not always the case. It depends on the scene and the kid (i.e., some kids can be a good influence on the scene and not just a consumer of the scene).
