It depends on the student! Some are smart enough to pull it off. Others aren’t. So yes she was wrong when she said “everyone” who worked in school got dead end jobs. But it does happen. As also your situation happens.
But you saying the one who worked in school will automatically be more successful doesn’t make sense. Maybe the one who spent more time studying will? I’d like to think whether you are studying or working will give you good experience.
