type of data and need some kind of context for deciding what those numbers mean. In 2017 in the US 99 peopled died each day to accidental falls, and 117 people died a day from accidental poisoning. That's really sad. Virtually nobody knows these numbers. If we were used to tracking daily deaths for all sorts of causes it would give us much more context for the Covid numbers--which could end up being horrific or relatively normative. It is certainly another source of death which will have some overlap with other causes but also novel deaths. I think it is helpful to have all this kind of context. I also agree a big issue is not overwhelming the healthcare system.
