sure. I can also compare a truck and a sedan. They're similar in so many ways.
And it hurts no one if I compare them.

Yeah, someone could get caught up in my comparisons. For example, they can both be used as forms of personal transportation. They both can use gasoline engines. They both typically have 4 wheels. They are both allowed on US public roads. Both require a special permit to operate.


that doesn't mean they get the same gas mileage. It also doesn't mean that tires for each cost the same amount of money. If you buy a truck instead of a normal sized sedan, it's not my fault if you're surprised at the difference in operation costs.

If I compare them, it doesn't hurt anyone.
Picking out one false possible comparison and pretending that makes all comparisons somehow dangerous is silly.
