I remember reading it for the first time the night before I took a week long solo wilderness/fishing/backpacking trip. I spent the next night in a tent alone in a meadow at 9000', surrounded by cattle, under a bright full moon. I could hear ever little movement around me. I didn't sleep much that night. The whole trip had a weird, paranoid mood to it because of that story.

Did your brother actually see beings? Or just the aftermath? I've always wondered that. Has he opened up more about what he experienced?
