Strength certainly is a factor that I probably didn't weight enough. As is quickness & agility.
While I disagree on AB not being quick - I think his man defense definitely proved otherwise - I will agree that his offensive style & skill mitigates some of that quickness. And I agree Wade's quickness is phenomenal & argues for a higher athletic ranking than I gave him, perhaps. At the same time - & in reverse of what I said about AB's quickness - I think a lot of the quickness that we see from Wade on the offensive side is the result of skill & even illusion that comes from skill. He is a master at counteracting his opponent's defense — always keeping his guy off-balance & guessing. That's what makes him so special. His high-release jumper is extremely quick, too — & he gets himself on balance in-flight, so he can get it off from a variety of positions.
As for Gavin — similar to what I said of AB — I think his perimeter defense proves he has excellent speed & quickness for his size. He needed to get stronger last season — & his physique certainly suggests he put in the work, & unfortunately his injury kept him from displaying it more. I'm certainly excited about his potential playing healthy for a full season.
