Not true, if the batter puts the ball in play and it isn’t caught the runner
Cannot claim the base he is at if there is a force out still in play. The tag can tag him out as long as the first basemen doesn’t touch first base first. If he steps in first base then the batter is out and the runner doesn’t have the force out so can stay there. But he can tag the runner who is standing on the base in a force out situation and then touch the base before the batter gets there and he has a double play
