Because he’s been a moderate all his life and the far left dislike him. A lot.
No doubt he’s under pressure from the left to run amok with them a la Trump and the alt right.
I’m not trying to say anyone started anything. But unlike you and others I’m not justifying the alt right behavior by saying “they started it”.
I do not believe that right(vs left) is synonymous with right (vs wrong) and therefore am unwilling to excuse anything anyone on the right does as being right.
Challenge norms of you want but some are there for a good reason. And when you violate the norms that have real reasons people will ask questions. You would too.
