I think it just depends on the dog and the owners. I have some friends
who had an Australian Shepherd that kept biting and nipping their kids so they had to get rid of it. Around the same time my wife and I got a Boxer/Pit mix from the pound that was super mellow, so mellow that our kid climbed all over her and we would have to scold him to stop doing that and not to pull on her ears and tail as she wouldn't react to it, other than to look at us for help. We of course did a ton of training with her when she was young, so maybe that was the difference maker. She's old now and only has a year or two left, and just sleeps all day, so I doubt we are going to see her have any issues. The best dog I've ever owned to be honest, and I've owned 6 different dogs of various breeds at this point.
