Cheer for whoever you want. What makes the linked situation weird...

Is they switched their allegiances simply because their daughter got accepted to Utah. If my kid goes to any other school in the country besides BYU would I switch my allegiances to them? No.

I have no idea where her parents went to school but to be a BYU fan and then dump the school because she didn’t get in and then start wearing Utah gear is weird to me.
