I would think that most of the board doesn't measure BYU's success by Utah's failures. I root for BYU to go 13-0 every year. I hope that the U goes 12-1. I do have to admit that when they lose additional games, I really don't feel bad about it, I look at it with a , 'Huh, it looks like they lost again', kind of attitude.

I would say that I enjoy the health rivalry with my Ute friends. I have a lot of great ute friends. It feels very similar to the way I would call my best friend or my brother too fat or ugly or unintelligent or undesirable to the opposite sex. It may sound cliche but it is how dudes say they get each other. Some of my ute friends are exceptionally kind and thoughtful. I know a lot, let me reiterate...A LOT... of less than savory Ute fans that I don't feel any loss in not associating with. I don't hate them, it is just not worth my time to listen to them bash my religion, or beliefs. Fine, they have their freedom just like I do.

Root for who you want. Who represents your ideals. Who you want your kids to grow up and be like. Don't take yourself too seriously. Fandom is part of enjoying the ride. Talking a little trash, enjoying the wins and eating a little crow are the Salt and Pepper that spice up our lives.
