Some. Many others can’t buy because no one will lend them several hundred

thousand dollars to buy a home.

Additionally, many others choose not to buy because they aren’t going to be in an area or situation long enough to justify the large up front cost of doing so (and the lack of flexibility to move when their lease is up).
