We grew up fairly poor. I lived in 23 different apartments before I graduated HS

Shortly after I was married, my HCBW and I decided to by a home. It was a foreclosure and I had to fix it up. I bought for $71,900 in 2006.

I went to tell my mom that we were buying our first home. She asked me why I would do that and told me it was a huge waste of money.

Idk what leads to this sort of thinking, but I’m really glad I never listened to her financial advice. Or the OP, for that matter.
