I know a car is going to slow roll a stop sign but will stop at a light. I know the car behind me is going to stay behind me. I get a feeling for if a car is switching lanes or turning (signal or not).
Same doesn’t apply to cyclists. Some burn through stop signs, some slow down, some stop. Stoplights are better but a crap shoot as well at times. Some will blur right on through others stop on the side. Others will ride up along side me and park in the lane next to a car.
My only angst is not knowing which cyclist I’m dealing with. There’s no predicting if they’re going to bolt out in front or wait in line like the rest of us.
And I like cyclists in general. But it’s annoying to not know how they’re going to react. I’m sure the same applies to drivers from a cyclist point of view but I think a majority of cyclists are familiar enough to be able to read road cues from motorists. The other way around is not true. There are precious few cues.
