From what I read, the proposal is to take the 6 conference champions that have the highest rating, and not the "highest rated conferences." Thus, it doesn't matter if the Pac-10 is ranked ahead of the MWC in overall play if Boise is ranked higher than their champ. Boise gets to go, no matter how bad the MWC is overall.

This would be a continuation of the current arrangement of the top rated G5 team making a bowl, no matter how good or bad their conference is. Because it is a continuation of the current way things are done, I think it is more likely to be that way than to have the top team of the top rated G5 be the rep.

Thus, we are just as likely to make it being part of the Sunbelt as we are being part of some G5 superconference. As a plus, the Sunbelt would likely keep our regular season schedules, and only be part of the conference for playoff consideration.
