Playing Utah as often as we can is important. We can still do that if we joined a conference. We would also have room in the schedule to play one additional P5 so we could keep future games against Oregon, USC, and Stanford on the schedule.

Playing a couple of extra middling to lower end P5 programs is not a reason to remain independent. NC State, Arizona, Minnesota, Washington St, Virginia are examples of games that are easy to walk away from in favor of a conference.

The money may keep us independent, but the schedule shouldn’t.
