Brown averaged 2.7 yards per carry and was converted to fullback
I mean...that's not good or great at any level. Outside of Jamaal and Squally, that position group was very weak. Citing Brown's NFL bouncing around at a different position isn't very probative when he was terrible as a running back in 2016. If he had stayed in running back shape in 2016, then sure he could have helped. Jamaal staying healthy saved that season for that position group. That's the bottom line.

While you can discount the game accomplishments of a bunch of underclassmen, it's pretty clear that the ceiling of this group is much higher than 2016's. The coaches watch these young guys every day and Roderick's #1 regret was not getting more touches for Miles Davis. Jackson McChesney is one of the best athletes on the entire team with NFL measurables. I know you want to ignore all of this defending the notion that Bronco left the offensive cupboards stock full of talent that lead to the worst offensive year in program history, but it isn't reality. The 2021 squad is light years deeper than the 2016 squad.
