the stats show much separation, if any. Sure, he can run and Romney is not as mobile but BYU has done a lot of winning over the years without a dual threat QB. Yes, I admit Romney looked out of synch/out of rhythm last season but he played only in mop-up time.
I have nothing against JH but in 2019 when Romney was playing he received more than a few accolades, some of which came from Steve Young who said "you play the guy who is winning games." Since then, for reasons I don't understand, the amount of JH/BR love from CBers has been about 80-20 in Jaren's favor. Just seems strange.
