Not chronic opiates
I went to Haiti after the big earthquake they had in 2010, doing surgeries. Couldn’t get people to take opiates post op, despite having huge bottles donated by medication manufacturers, because it wasn’t a cultural expectation to do so. If a Haitian can get their leg chopped off and survive, overweight 45 year old lady with depression can as well.
