If you want an Olympic pool, raise the funds. The Richards building has multiple functions, with swimming being only one.
Yes, I would like to see an Olympic pool, too.
As to the coach - yes he rattled cages including protesting at the Church office building.
Additionally, he was horrible at recruiting. My niece from Virginia and other top swimmers in her class chose the university of Wyoming over BYU! Not because of facilities but the difference in coaches and their attitudes.
