its a little more complex than "just build a 50 meter pool!" BYU couldn't expan

the footprint of the building, and couldn't build a new building.

The next best thing? build a 40 meter pool that you can adjust between 25 yards and meters. International swimmers train 25 meters almost year round. John Brooks never utilized this feature.

The other issue? Culture- BYU Swimming rarely has had individuals train together over the summer. No world class facility was going to change that.
