Conduit! future proof to a large extent.
What I did in a few places with lots of connections (i.e. in the room with the modem/router) was run some conduit into the crawl space. I didn't have access to everything where I wanted the conduit, but at least the one place with lots of wires has a bit.

Over the few years we have lived here, I've pulled a couple of different cables in the crawl space ... first some coax for satellite, then some phone lines, then some cat5, and finally a bunch of cat6. It's a pain to have to be under the house with cable on the end of straightened out coat hanger while talking to the kids in the house trying to grab the end of the wire!!

I wish I had conduit all over the house.

Because, I'm sure, that a some point, the cat6 is going to have to replaced with catX or with fiber or with some new technology. And if I could just feed it through conduit in the walls into the crawl space or into the attic or whatever - That would be GREAT.

So, if I had bare studs ... I'd future proof the best I could with conduit for whatever comes next.
