Things were really bad at BYU after Crowton's first year. We suuuuucked....so bad. We were lucky to have a guy on the staff to take over--our pool was small and we were cheap on coaches. If he hasn't worked out, it could have been so much worse than it already was.

And he saved our logo. His insistence that we bring back the stretch Y basically gave our school a unified logo. Don't forget that pre Val Hale, the stretch Y was only a football thing. Basketball didn't use it. Everyone was doing their own thing with branding, logos, etc. Hale tried to unify the school (wise), but changed colors and logo (stupid, stupid, stupid).

Bronco brought back our helmets and royal. The rest of the school followed by adopting the stretch Y. I think it is a big deal in many ways. Hugely important decision that I credit to Bronco Mendenhall.
