Neither team needed "saving". They both had been through rocky periods and...
...needed stability. Both Bronco and Steve provided that.
Bronco had a much easier path to success because he inherited a team full of future NFL talent on the roster AND in the pipeline (currently serving missions, in the 2005 recruiting class etc).
Steve inherited a really really bad roster and had to start from ground zero.
