Even in 2013, after his death, Elder Rasband was invited to meet with the heads of state of both Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Near the end of meeting with these leaders, Elder Rasband asked why he had been invited and was told that they were aware Mitt Romney was running for president, but more importantly they knew Cosic had been a member of the church and they wanted to know more.
In 2017, I happened to encounter a hostess at a restaurant with an unusual name. She appeared to be in her early 20s. I asked where she was from. When she said, "Croatia," I responded with, "The land of Kresimir Cosic." She instantly broke into a wide smile and then showed a little confusion as she asked, "How do you know of Kresimir Cosic?" She was probably not even in her country's version of kindergarten when he died, but she knew well who he was. I proudly informed he that he and I had attended the same university, though not at the same time, of course.
