My point is... take the $5M or so he could have made in those 5 years and then give it all away for his cause. I'd bet
he could have sponsored entire leagues (free for the players) for decades with that kind of money.
Earn the money... pay your tithing/taxes... then take what's left to subsidize the growth of the sport.
