That’s the whole point. I would argue that having alternate jerseys makes it more likely for a top recruit to come to BYU than adding some random recruiting guy who sends out letters.

I just looked at the top 25 and every school but 3 used alternate jerseys. Those 3 schools are Alabama, USC, and Penn State. Every other top 25 school uses alternates. Why do they do this? Because it matters to recruits. If it didn’t have an impact, they wouldn’t do it.

Even schools like Ohio State and Michigan, who have iconic uniforms, add something different. BYU does not have an iconic uniform to the extent Bama, USC, and Penn State have. It makes no sense to not use a potential advantage, ESPECIALLY WHEN BYU IS ALREADY DISADVANTAGED IN RECRUITING.
