Must see places? A week in late October? National Parks are a MUST see.
Go to Arches National Park. There is a New Moon on the 25th. Hike to delicate arch for sunset. Stay until nightfall. Hike down in the pitch black by starlight. It's incredible.
Don't forget a headlamp, obviously... But you'll want to turn it off occasionally
