Depending on how much time you have near Bryce, I'd drive HW 12 all the way to
Boulder, UT. While in Boulder eat at the Burr Trail Grill. The drive along HW 12 is one of the prettiest drives you'll ever make. They built the highway along the hog's back so you have amazing views out both sides of the car.
You could do a hike along the way. An easy 6 mile hike (3 miles in and back) is Lower Calf Creek Falls. You'd come away with photos that will impress and if you're tough could swim in the pool of the falls (it would be super cold...always is but that time of year you don't have warm weather to heat you back up).

Eat at the Pines too (homemade comfort food) and NOT at Ruby's Inn (horrible #10 can school lunch food).
