Mainly the conversion rate is high. But a lot of those other teams have specific short down distance formations with more blockers. Clearly byu (this year) without TA can’t just stay in its one rb formation and hand off and get it. At least the past few games you saw Arod tinkering with the play calls with some quick passes and qb runs.
They need to implement a strong I Formation to run more power with a lead FB and play action TE options. Problem is that byu takes too long to get new formations within the play clock so they need to specifically practice calling the power formations and getting the package on the field faster to run it.
