The academic prestige of the Pac-12 hinges on the inclusion of 5 schools:
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Cal
Washington
The others, including Utah, Oregon State, etc., are average or even below average for large/flagship state schools. You know that.
2 of those 5 are leaving. The Pac-12 is looking to replace them with non AAU R2 schools SDSU and SMU. That leaves just 3 high level schools and 9 also-rans. The balance is changing massively right now.
Moreover, UW is trying to leave. They won't sign a GOR because they're leaving if they get the chance.
Stanford won't stay around while the Pac-12 backfills with schools that further dilute its brand. It's already scrambling.
Your decade plus long stint in a legit power league, albeit the weakest one, may come to a swift but ignominious close.
Time will tell.
