As a Frankfurt resident for over three years, it's hard to disagree with this
assessment. That said, the Römer is nice, although a total rebuild, and there are very nice areas of the city. And as a place to live and work, it's pretty livable compared to lots of other European cities. It's still easy to drive downtown, and you can be out of the city in a hurry - not to mention the airport puts you anywhere in the world you want to go.
