I've been to everyone of those cities. In Switzerland and Austria.
Geneva is... whatever. It's boring. You're correct. But Zermatt, Interlaken, Grindewald, Lauterbrunnen, ... Are every bit the equal of Innsburck, Tyrol, or Salzburg.
Vienna is just another dirty big city.
They are both gorgeous countries. I love them both and have multi-generational ties to both. The real benefit to Austria is that vacationing there is cheaper.
