A lot of fans have their own personal self worth tied very closely to the
performance of the team they root for. I think that is the issue for most of those who are struggling so badly with 8-5, or whatever.
Add in that they are envious of Utah or some other team(s) and their successes.
Further, some mistakenly believe they personally can influence the team for better or worse and when that fails they get increasingly frustrated.
Once you let go of having your ego or self esteem closely tied to the performance of the team, you can just enjoy it for what it is.
