BYU + College Football = The Best Combination
I love College Football, but I love BYU more. BYU + College football combines two things I really enjoy.
I am a fan of several College Football teams. But, BYU is far and away the favorite team for me to follow and spend time on. Not because they are nationally relevant. Because of their standards and what they represent. BYU, in general, is a very unique, great atmosphere. That is why I am a BYU football fan over other teams.
Do I love it when they win? Of course! Am I even more engaged when they are 4-0 and #18 in the country? Yes! Am I somewhat less engaged in seasons with a losing record? Yes. BYU accomplishes its mission, represents the church and puts the church in national conversations much better when they win. So lots of reasons I want them to win and be a top team nationally. But, for me, I can't, I won't, dump BYU as my favorite team, because of how the national football landscape, and BYU's spot in it, changes. I love BYU football for other reasons.
