The Passion's great, but the intent & levity at others' personal expense is getting way out of hand in sports. So we aren't as vulgar as other schools might be, but I agree our intentions & civility ain't much better than anyone else out there.
Not that I even think we should be better just to be better. Actually I hate that common Mormon mentality/endeavor. But in this case I wish more would look at the situation through eyes like yours.
Fans can be just as passionate without all that junk. I am a bit disturbed by pts 1 & 2--& definitely by 3 (good to know it was just a couple fans--that's tough to avoid in sports); as for 4, I'm not sure I see the harm, but maybe its my naivity.
I love sports & will continue to go & enjoy them--& for the love of our teams & school--& I will definitely continue to get caught up in the energy of the crowd. I love it all--BUT I would love it MUCH more if our crowd showed more class. It's gotten quite a bit worse since I graduated 15 years back, & it's really declined in the last few years in particular.
