they didnt get up for that Colorado game. When you look at the worst losses of each program around the country in recent years, looking past the opponent and thinking they could win just by showing up is a pretty common characteristic in all of them. Yes they were playing for a participation ribbon in the conference championship game. But they had no chance of going up to Eugene and beating Oregon had they beaten CU. That was a well below average team once Hays took over under center (easily worse than the 2012 and 2013 teams). The players knew that. My guess is that took some of the weight out of the Colorado game. Sure playing in the championship game would have been nice, but what does that really mean? Especially when you lose by 30....thats just my opinion.
Every team in the country gets up for their rivalry game more than they do for the game against one of the worst teams in the fbs.....
