...Kyle was a good coach at building that culture of having to beat BYU whatever the cost, especially when the game was the last one of the season and they had several weeks to rest up and prepare for a bowl game. Now that he's got that mindset so deeply ingrained he can't get his players to play their Pac12 schedule with that same edge, chip or sense of abject hatred for their opponent that they've showed the Cougars. It's come back to bite him and will likely cost him his job.
Before they will ever be consistently successful in the Pac12, they have to tear down that culture and build a new one and that means saying goodbye to the coach who built it.
