...that's what KVN talked about. Dres talked about a cultural aspect of the program that is deeply ingrained by the Head Coach and other former BYU players who have crossed over to the dark side. It's an aspect and mindset that nobody on the BYU side possesses or understands because they're either former Cougars who remained loyal to the program or they're fresh from the outside.

Yes BYU wants to beat Utah but they don't see it or feel it like the yewts do. There was one BYU player in recent years that I think did and he was the last BYU QB to beat the Yewts (and managed to go 2-1 h2h). Max Hall understood and felt about Utah the way the yewts felt about BYU. Problem is nobody else understands it and can feed off of it like he did and thus we haven't won since he left. If Max played in 2010, 2012 and 2013 we'd have won those games for sure.

Yes Bronco wants to beat Utah but it's not a personal thing for him like it is for Kyle, it's not mission critical. You didn't read stories of Bronco's sons and his wife tangling with yewt fans, starting fights, stealing cellphones and throwing them etc etc like you did with the Whittinghams. Interesting enough, the one BYU player who gets the rivalry like Whitt does (Max Hall) also had his share of run-ins with yewt fans involving his family, etc. It's not a coincidence.

The speed of the leader determines the rate of the pack and the rest of the yewt program follows suit behind Kyle in that regard. Once Kyle is fired and they hire a new coach BYU will start beating Utah on a regular basis once again, you can mark my words (caveat: unless that new coach is the next Urban Meyer or something extraordinary like that).
