I was an English major, history minor and my professors and fellow students were pretty creative when it came to finding ways to change the subject to bashing the church. Being a recent RM, I was used to being patient with such rants. I would probably take them on a little more now. I came to resent the fact that Utah taxpayers, a majority of which are LDS, finance an institution that it so ardently anti-Mormon. And I was appalled when I heard the church was donating $4 million to help build the new law building at the U. Long story short: I was raised a cougar fan (both parents are alumni) but my experience at the U sealed the deal for me as a BYU fan.
