BYU winter semester. After BYU went to USU for a year and then to UU for two years. I can firmly say that UU was the worst. Logan was awesome and the school was great but BYU is by far the best. I did have two of my best profs at the U but they both retired a year after I got there and their replacements were truly horrible. The engineering department staff were generally useless and arrogant, which was a surprise since they were ranked behind both USU and BYU by Princeton review. You would think they would be a little more humble. I got the "but we are a research institution" line from them multiple times and this was in the early Ron McBride days, so there was no PAC arrogance to influence their idiocy.

I think that a large portion of BYU fans, maybe even the majority are LDS faithful that have no real ties to BYU other than membership in the church. I am always amazed when I run across an LDS person that is not from Utah that "hates" BYU. It does not make sense. I always suspect that there is a failed application somewhere in their family tree that is undisclosed.
