It was great fun. I have lots of fond memories from those trips.
Come time for college I applied to BYU along with Rick's and Utah State. I chose USU and loved it as well (for those keeping score, I was also accepted at both BYU and Rick's, and had scholarship offers from both).
I will admit that for the 1st year it was hard to cheer for a different school. But after 4 years I was converted. Granted, football wasn't much fun, but I saw our best basketball (2000-2004) and the atmosphere in the Spectrum during that time period was epic.
So now I cheer for both schools, and USU if they play each other.
The kicker is that I married a Ute. Hey, great people can come from there - even if they might have made a bad decision at 18
